Packaging Conference Gets More Support
Several organizations and industry speakers are signing on to support The Packaging Summit Conference, which also features the Packaging Containers & Materials Expo and the Packaging Services Expo at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, May 16–18.
The conference will include a roundtable discussion titled “Managing Cost/Value Relationships Across Global Markets,” moderated by David Howard, director, advanced packaging technologies, global pharmaceutical sourcing group, Johnson & Johnson.
The Sustainable Packaging track features a roundtable presented by the Sustainable Packaging Coalition called “Strategies in Sustainable Packaging.” Sponsored by Herman Miller Inc., the roundtable includes such participants as Anne Johnson, director, Sustainable Packaging Coalition (Program Host); Randy Boeller, package engineering program manager, HP; John Delfausse, vice president, package Development, Aveda; and others.
Other conference presenters include Carl Olsmats, PhD, general secretary, World Packaging Organization; and Debbie Kokoruda, associate design director, design, baby care, Procter & Gamble.
In addition, the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) has selected the Packaging Summit as the new home for the organization’s AmeriStar Package Awards Reception. Starting with Packaging Summit 2006, the 2005 AmeriStar award winners will be displayed in the Packaging Summit Hall of Packaging Excellence along with more than 100 award-winning packages from the other supporting packaging associations (see below). The Hall of Packaging Excellence is the Packaging Summit’s focal point, an innovations hub located front and center in the exposition hall. Packages will be prominently displayed for attendees to observe and experience up close.
Further, the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) announced it will hold its World Packaging Conference and WorldStar Ceremony in conjunction with the Packaging Summit 2007. This will mark the first time in over a decade that the WPO has held its World Packaging Conference in the United States.
