PDCï¿½s new headquarters
Keller Crescent (Evansville, IN) and Pharmagraphics (Greensboro, NC) have incorporated into one company. Six facilities will go under the new name Keller Crescent: Charlotte, NC; Greensboro, NC; Evansville, IN; Indianapolis; Portland, CT; and Vega Alta, Puerto Rico. The company says customers will be served by their existing contacts and facilities, which will now be led by joint management under the combined companies. The venture forms one of the largest manufacturers of secondary packaging components.
Alcan Packaging (Paris) has acquired the Tubapak cosmetic tube manufacturing facility in Russia. Alcan signed a Share Purchase Agreement for the 7000-m2 facility to increase capabilities in the central and eastern European markets, pending clearance by Russian authorities.
Tamper-evident packaging machinery developer and manufacturer PDC International (Norwalk, CT) has a new headquarters. The new facility includes a reengineered primary manufacturing floor with lean and value-stream mapping techniques, plus a new fabrication and machining department. Other features are aftermarket service and parts departments with engineering and process planning and new equipment such as a four-axis machining center and a large state-of-the-art steam boiler similar to those of PDC customers.
Jaguar Freight Services (New York City) has opened an office at Charles de Gualle Airport in Paris. The international location is the second for the specialized freight company in two years, after its latest office opening in Hong Kong. Jaguar, which also offers information tracking services, will use its Paris location to serve the French market in cosmetic, manufacturing, and prestige products.
Liquid-fill company Surefil LLC (Grand Rapids, MI) has passed a self-requested audit with a 96.7% score by the health and safety monitoring group Silliker. The audit inspects industry standard conformance, plant hygienics, building equipment condition, employee practices, and storing, shipping, and receiving operations.
