A major U.S.-based manufacturer has awarded
Environmental Tectonics Corp. Sterilizer Division(Southampton, PA) the contract to design, supply, install, and commission two four-pallet 100% EtO sterilization systems with associated process controls. Both sterilizers will be installed in a new 130,000-sq-ft facility now being built. The total contract value is approximately $800,000.
Erie Plastics (Corry, PA) observed its 40th anniversary with the dedication of its new building. The $15 million project included the purchase of eight new Husky injection molding presses, the equipping of a special processing lab with a unique three-shot Engel tri-injection machine, and an early copy of a Husky hylectric press as well as other high-tech measuring and laboratory equipment.
Westvaco Brand Security Inc. (Stamford, CT) has entered a licensing agreement with Digimarc Corp. (Tualatin, OR) to employ Digimarc's digital watermarking technology in counterfeit and fraud deterrence, product packaging authentication, and other brand-security applications. The company can embed a Digimarc Excalibur secure digital watermark on the exterior of consumer product packaging, which will allow companies to differentiate counterfeit from original products instantly through package inspection. The technology also offers track-and-trace capabilities to assist in locating the potential source of counterfeit packaging.
Wallace (Lisle, IL) has acquired Thomas Packaging Corp. (Avon Lake, OH), a manufacturer of regulatory labels and inserts, and prime labels. The acquisition expands the company's products and services for producers and distributors of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, animal health products, and over-the-counter drugs.
