Adhesives
A series of adhesives can be used for rapid bonding of a wide variety of substrates found in reservoirs, plastic housings, respiratory devices, needles, syringes, tube sets, fittings, and other medical devices. The MD 1200 series of adhesives are formulated with the company’s exclusive See-Cure technology. Uncured, they are bright blue in color, making them easy to see on the surface of substrates, in deep wells, or when sandwiched between two layers of materials. The blue color allows automated vision systems to confirm adhesive placement prior to curing, resulting in greater efficiency and less scrap. During the light-curing process, the blue color transitions to clear, indicating that a full cure has been achieved. This visual cure-indicator may be used to qualify the process and then to ensure that the process remains within established control parameters. The 1200 series adhesives are solvent free and cure in seconds when exposed to high-intensity UV/Visible light, enabling faster processing, greater output, and lower assembly costs. The ISO 9001 certified manufacturer was recognized by the U.S. Department of Commerce for its innovation and exportation to foreign companies. Pallet Ties
Reusable pallet ties allow quick securing and resecuring of pallet drums, pails, and cartons repeatedly over time. Ty-Up Pallet Ties are designed to reduce the risk of falling goods through the use of a metal hook that self-fastens the cord when wrapped around pallet goods. By holding the hooked end of the Ty-Up with one hand and wrapping the cord with the other, users lock the Ty-Up into place by tugging the cord through the hook. Time study tests show that these ties are 50% faster to use than other manual ties. Free trials of the product are available on request to qualified prospects. Maintenance-Free Coder
A system provides economical printing of bar codes on multiple panels of a case, including 2-D Data Matrix codes, graphics, date/time, etc. The Sauven 1000 series (formerly known as Codajet) offers control of up to four compact, high-resolution, ink-jet print heads with one controller, placed within thirty feet of the print heads. The print heads can be mounted inside packaging equipment. The controllers install safely outside protective guards. Print the same or different messages at each of the print heads, at print speeds up to 100 meters/minute. Each 17-mm-high print head comes with its own cartridge-loaded ink reservoir, enabling a simple-to-operate, no-mess coder that is virtually maintenance-free. Services include needs assessment, technical coordination with upstream or downstream equipment, product delivery, installation, setup, training, spare parts, and consumables. Foam Packaging
A manufacturer of cross-linked block foams has developed a new six-page color brochure with a CD on how its line of closed-cell foam packaging can be used in protective packaging. Also provided is a JAVA-based interactive foam cushioning calculator, which is a cushion-packaging program that will calculate the specific foam dimensions that are required to protect individual items. AZOTE foams can be fabricated and thermoformed, and they have a wide operating temperature range and exhibit excellent chemical and water resistance.
