The annual pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging show Interphex will be held March 29–31 in New York City at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The event will exhibit more than 650 resources for equipment, innovations, solutions, products, and services for small and large molecule manufacturing needs and provide the opportunity to meet with representatives of the 2011 Facility of the Year Award winners. In addition, there will be more than 30 education sessions, including such topics as regulatory perspectives on continuous manufacturing, single-use biotech facility rapid deployment, and practical approaches to Six Sigma, with sessions moderated by members of the 2011 Advisory Board. There will also be a return of the popular Signature Series, presented by Pharmaceutical Technology, and luncheon presentations by BioProcess International on vaccines and cell therapies.
In February, Interphex launched InterphexConnects One2One Meetings, to bring attendees with sourcing needs together with contract manufacturers and other service providers at Interphex 2011. InterphexConnects One2One Meetings will be located in the Sourcing & Services Meeting Center in the Sourcing & Services exhibitor Zone on the show floor. The Meeting Center will feature a lounge with six private rooms for prearranged meetings between potential buyers and providers, and its staff will also manage the booking process, a service that has already begun. Complete details are posted online at www.interphex.com.

A provider of specialty pharmaceutical labeling solutions will be exhibiting its full line of specialty labels. One of the many products the company will be featuring is the next generation of the company’s award-winning labeling solution, Needle-Trap. Designed to help prevent accidental needle-stick injuries from disposable syringes, the original Needle-Trap system was launched just two years ago and features an integrated safety mechanism that is a component of the self-adhesive syringe label. This allows the needle to be safely and easily secured after it has been used. The new Needle-Trap also comes with detachable label parts, which can be easily removed and placed on patients’ medical records or vaccination card, allowing for reliable documentation, increased efficiency and enhanced safety. The system can be adapted to all conventional syringe dimensions and uses standard secondary packaging, giving Needle-Trap a cost advantage over other needle protection systems as well as offering environmental benefits.
