Colonial Carton Company has changed its name. As of January, the company is now known as 3C Packaging. The name change comes as part of a core marketing shift. The new name, the company says, will take it from a folding carton company to a packaging solutions company. Along with the name change comes a new logo.
The Pharma Packaging and Labeling USA Conference has announced a sponsorship. Catalent Pharma Solutions will be the lead sponsor for the event on February 18-19 in Philadelphia. Catalent will also hold a workshop on the day following the event at its Moorestown, NJ, facility.
Ampac Flexibles (Cincinnati) has installed a new Totani pouching machine in its Elk Grove Village, IL, facility. The Totani model BH-80HVLLLS-M will expand the company’s output of flexible pouches such as standard three-side seal, stand-up, and retort. Ampac added the machine as a response to market demand. The machine’s features provide high-quality sealing, a stable cooling mechanism, and automatic adjustment functions that clearly and precisely form pouches at high speeds.
Dymax has acquired dispensing equipment designer and manufacturer Tridak Division of Indicon, which will now be known as Tridak LLC. The company will continue to create standard and custom equipment for dispensing and filling materials.
Folding carton and paperboard producer Colbert Packaging Corp. (Lake Forest, IL) celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. In 1959 Charles “Bud” Colbert purchased rigid setup box company Kroeck Paperbox Co., founded in 1892, and named it Colbert. He began business by broadening the company’s offerings and creating folded cartons. Colbert Packaging has continually expanded its portfolio. Its most recent venture has been with its new patient compliance products ComplyPack and AlertPack.
Packaging design, manufacturing, and integration company ESS Technologies (Blacksburg, VA) recently expanded its agreement with FANUC Robotics. ESS Technologies will broaden the region where it serves as a strategic partner for assembly, packaging, and palletizing of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and diagnostics products to most of the United States and Canada. ESS is FANUC’s only North American strategic partner for assembling, packaging, and palletizing pharmaceuticals and medical devices.
