FOILS: For Flexible Packaging
Foils are printable and create a distinctive product look.
Thousands of foil swatches are included in a 72-page reference guide about hot-stamping foils. The sample kit encompasses metallics, gloss and matte pigments, tints and pearls, special-effect foils, and holographic and pixel-formed patterns. Custom and stock holograms are available to enhance foil surfaces. The guide identifies applications and provides information about compatible substrates. Crown Roll Leaf Inc., Paterson, NJ.
A rainbow holographic foilboard can be used to give a package a distinctive design that enhances marketability. The solid, bleached-sulfate foilboard has properties that lend it an appearance similar to hot foil stamping, but which can be achieved with fewer production steps. The addition of a print-receptive coat of lacquer facilitates overprinting. Utilizing graphic elements and a background pattern combined with the holographic foilboard, the packages position the product to be distinctive on the retail shelf. Diamond Packaging, Rochester, NY.
