California Knows How to Package
WestPack and MD&M West provide a forum for packaging innovations and demonstrations.
WestPack, coming February 10–12 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California, will offer visitors the West Coast’s largest display of packaging innovations. Pavilions throughout the show floor are dedicated to topics such as contract services, software, robotics, and pharmaceutical and nutraceutical packaging.
Kicking off the first day is a packaging keynote panel discussion open to all attendees. “So the Grass IS Greener on the Other Side: How Industry Leaders Increase Sustainability to Increase Profitability” will feature business leaders sharing their success stories on topics such as end-of-life product design and corporate social responsibility.
Devoted to key sustainability issues, the Green Manufacturing Expo is co-located with the packaging show, along with Medical Design & Manufacturing West and PLASTEC West. Visitors have access to all shows.
For 2009, show organizers have lined up a day dedicated to educating visitors on the latest in medical device packaging. At MD&M West, a daylong session on the subject includes talks on package testing and sustainability practices.
Chaired by Kevin Zacharias of Oliver Medical, the topics include Test Method Overview Aging and Distribution Attics, New ASTM Distribution Test Conditioning and Sterile Medical Devices (ASTM D7386 versus ASTM D4169), and Green Packaging: How to Make the Move.
